Preschool in Chicago

The years between ages 3 and 4 are when children transform from curious toddlers into confident, capable learners. At Fantasy Island Schools for Kids, our preschool in Chicago is built around that transformation – providing an English-language, gifted curriculum with Polish and Ukrainian language support, that turns everyday curiosity into real academic readiness. An overwhelming majority of our students go on to complete our kindergarten program and earn acceptance into gifted programs at local elementary schools. That journey starts here, in preschool.

What Our Preschool Program Covers

Our preschool in Chicago is not a holding space between daycare and kindergarten. It is a structured academic program designed to develop the whole child – intellectually, socially, emotionally, and physically. Here is what that looks like in practice.

Literacy and Language Arts

Children develop early reading and writing skills through phonics, storytelling, vocabulary building, and guided reading activities. Literacy instruction happens in English, preparing children for American schools, while weekly Polish classes help children from Polish-speaking homes keep building their first language. By the end of the preschool year, children recognize letters, form words, and begin reading simple texts.

Math and Logical Thinking

Preschoolers explore numbers, patterns, shapes, measurement, and basic problem-solving through hands-on activities and guided play. Our approach makes abstract math concepts tangible – children count real objects, sort by real categories, and discover patterns in the world around them. This foundation prepares them for the more advanced numeracy work they will encounter in kindergarten.

Science and Exploration

Children are natural scientists – they observe, question, test, and discover. Our preschool curriculum channels that instinct through structured exploration of topics like weather, seasons, plants, animals, and basic physics. Sensory play, simple experiments, and outdoor observation are built into the weekly schedule, giving children hands-on experience with the scientific method before they even know what to call it.

Art, Music, and Creative Expression

Creativity is not an extra at Fantasy Island – it is a core part of how children learn and grow. Our preschoolers participate in enrichment classes in visual art, music, and dance as part of the regular program. These activities develop fine motor skills, self-expression, spatial awareness, and the confidence to share ideas with others.

Social-Emotional Development

Learning to share, take turns, resolve conflicts, express feelings, and work as part of a group – these skills are just as important as academics at the preschool level. Our small class sizes and experienced teachers create an environment where children practice these skills every day through structured interaction, collaborative projects, and guided reflection.

Our Preschool Options

Full-Day Preschool

From 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, a full preschool day fills most of your child's waking hours, so what happens in it matters. Here it holds three meals cooked on-site, our gifted curriculum, music, Brain Gym and indoor and outdoor play, with certified teachers parents describe as caring for children as their own. Learn more about full-day preschool.

Gifted Preschool Program

An overwhelming majority of our kindergarten graduates are accepted into gifted programs, and that path starts here at ages 3 and 4. The Gifted Enrichment Program is included in preschool tuition, pairing hands-on literacy, math and science with Brain Gym sessions led by our certified founder to build the focus bright young learners need. Learn more about gifted preschool program.

Part-Time Preschool

Part-time preschool works best when you plan the week around what happens on each day: Polish class every Friday, Brain Gym with our founder twice a week, and music once a week. On the days your 3- or 4-year-old attends, they follow the same gifted curriculum as full-time classmates and eat three meals cooked right here. Learn more about part-time preschool.

Polish Preschool

Your child learns in English all day from teachers who mostly speak Polish as well, so a shy 3-year-old who reaches for a Polish word is understood right away. Structured Polish classes every Friday keep that language growing, while English prepares your child for American schools. Learn more about polish preschool.

Pre-K Program

A pre-K year should do more than fill the time before kindergarten. Ours follows a kindergarten-readiness curriculum taught in English, with the Gifted Enrichment Program, Brain Gym and music included in tuition, and your child can continue straight into our kindergarten at ages 5 and 6 instead of starting over somewhere new. Learn more about pre-k program.

English-Language Preschool with Polish & Ukrainian Support

Our preschool in Chicago teaches in English, because our goal is to prepare children to continue their education in American schools. At the same time, maintaining and developing a child’s native language matters. Most of our teachers speak Polish, structured Polish language classes are held every Friday, and Ukrainian-speaking teachers provide language activities for Ukrainian-speaking children.

For Polish- and Ukrainian-speaking families, this means children build full English readiness for kindergarten while staying connected to the language they speak at home. For English-speaking families, it means a strong English-language academic program in a warm, multicultural community.

Our Preschool Results

Our preschool in Chicago is the middle step in a complete early childhood program that begins at age 2 and ends with kindergarten graduation. The results of this progressive approach speak for themselves – an overwhelming majority of our kindergarten graduates are accepted into gifted programs at Chicago-area elementary schools. That level of achievement starts with the academic habits, thinking skills, and confidence built during the preschool years.

Daycare (Ages 2-3)

A nurturing introduction to structured learning through play, songs, stories, and sensory exploration.

My 3.5 year old joined after we moved and I was worried if she would adjust well. I couldn’t be happier! The teachers are amazing, my daughter is happy, can read, write, speak Polish and she never loses a thing which was an everyday thing at her old daycare. I have zero complaints and look forward to sending my little one here as well

The staff and owner are very caring and attentive. The facility is clean and they provide on-site cooked meals. I recommend this place in a heartbeat!

I'm so grateful we found Fantasy Island. This is our 4th daycare center and far and away the best. They have created such a warm, home-like environment that my daughter loves the teachers like Aunties. I am very impressed with the cleanliness of the place, the decor, the toys, the playground equipment, and the fresh-cooked food. It often smells so good, I want to stay for lunch! My 4 year old has learned to write all her letters and numbers and knows the sounds each letter makes. She has been here about 2 years and I am happily keeping her here throughout her preschool years. Best daycare I know!
