Fantasy Island Schools for Kids offers full-day kindergarten from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with three meals cooked on-site and a busy, joyful day, so working parents across Chicago’s Northwest Side can focus at work without the guilt.
When you both work demanding jobs, a short school day can turn every afternoon into a scramble of pickups and sitters. Our doors are open Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, so your child’s kindergarten day and your workday can line up in one place.
There is no midday handoff to plan and no second drop-off across town. Your child spends the day with the same certified teachers and the same small class, which gives a five- or six-year-old the steady routine that makes a long day feel safe. You walk into work knowing exactly where your child is and who is with them.
A long day only works if it is full of real things to do. Across the week, your child’s day mixes our gifted kindergarten curriculum with music class led by a qualified music teacher, plus art, dance, and STEM. Children move between dedicated indoor and outdoor learning areas, so a full day includes time outside, not just time in a chair.
Parents notice the difference at pickup. As one family wrote in a review, teachers keep kids busy and there are a lot of activities. That is what a full day should give you: a child who comes out tired in the good way, with stories about the day.
Unpacking a lunchbox that comes home half eaten is its own kind of daily worry, and in a full day, food matters even more. Our kitchen cooks three nutritious, locally sourced meals on-site every day, and all three are included in tuition.
You do not pack lunch in the morning rush, and your child does not have to make it to 6:00 PM on snacks from a packet. Families often mention the food in their reviews, and one wrote that the food is all natural and cooked on-site three times a day. For a working parent, that is one less thing on the list every single morning.
Fantasy Island sits on Milwaukee Avenue at Elston Avenue in the Norwood Park area. Milwaukee runs straight southeast about two miles to the Jefferson Park Transit Center, where the Blue Line and the Metra Union Pacific Northwest line stop, and northwest to Niles and Golf Mill. Pace bus route 270 runs along Milwaukee between Golf Mill and Jefferson Park.
For you, that means a 7:00 AM drop-off can sit right on the way to your train or bus, and the 6:00 PM pickup sits on the way home. A full-day kindergarten only helps if getting there does not add another hour to your day.
We are open Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM and closed on weekends. That window is built around a typical workday, with time for a commute on both ends. Your child spends the day with the same certified teachers and small class, with three meals cooked on-site along the way, so there is nothing extra to arrange in the middle of the day.
Yes. We offer both full-time and part-time enrollment, and tuition depends on the program and schedule you choose. If your work week is split between the office and home, part-time days can follow that rhythm. During a visit, you can talk through which days and schedule fit your family best.
A long day feels long when a child has nothing to do. Here the day is broken up by meals, hands-on lessons, music, art, dance, STEM, and time in our indoor and outdoor learning areas, with familiar teachers throughout. If you feel your child needs a shorter week, part-time enrollment is available, and you can adjust as your child grows into the routine.
We accept families participating in the Illinois Child Care Assistance Program. CCAP is run by the Illinois Department of Human Services, and in Cook County applications go through Illinois Action for Children, which decides eligibility and the amount of assistance. Check actforchildren.org for current requirements, and we can explain how CCAP works alongside our tuition.
Yes. Fantasy Island serves children ages 2 to 6, with daycare for ages 2 to 3, preschool for ages 3 to 4, and kindergarten for ages 5 to 6, all at 6100 N Milwaukee Ave. For working parents with two children, that means one drop-off and one pickup instead of two separate stops every morning and evening.
